General Motors has officially launched the 2025 Cadillac Optiq, introducing this cutting-edge electric model exclusively to the Chinese market.
This new addition to Cadillac’s EV lineup was unveiled as part of a collaboration with SAIC and is set to redefine expectations in the luxury electric vehicle sector.
Built upon GM’s innovative Ultium architecture, which is shared with the Chevrolet Blazer EV, the Optiq is available in two distinct models: Standard and Long Range. These variants cater to a broad spectrum of consumer preferences with differences in power and range.
The Standard model, representative of the Luxury trim level in traditional Cadillac offerings, features a front-mounted electric motor. This motor delivers 241 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 7 seconds.
It includes a 68.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which supports a driving range of up to 333 miles according to the CLTC standard, an optimistic measure for range estimation.
The Long Range model ups the ante with a dual motor setup that provides all-wheel drive and a more robust power output of 283 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque.
This model promises a quicker acceleration time of less than 6 seconds from 0 to 62 mph and is equipped with a larger 79.7 kWh battery, capable of reaching up to 373 miles on a single charge.
Both models of the Optiq feature an impressive 33-inch curved display, mirroring the advanced technology seen in Cadillac’s Lyriq.
The interiors boast luxurious appointments including a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated leather seats, a 126-color ambient lighting system, a wireless smartphone charger, and a digital rearview mirror, emphasizing Cadillac’s commitment to luxury and convenience.
The 2025 Cadillac Optiq, painted in a striking orange hue, has already begun making its way to Cadillac IQ stores across China. It is produced at the SAIC-GM Cadillac Jinqiao plant in Shanghai and, for now, remains a market exclusive to China.
To attract buyers, the joint venture offers attractive benefits like a lifetime warranty on the vehicle’s electric systems among other incentives.
The pricing starts at approximately $33,105 for the Standard version, while the Long Range version is available starting from about $37,250.
