Chevrolet reintroduced the Blazer as a mid-size Crossover with two rows but fans of the original were left disappointed since they were expecting a rugged SUV capable of off-road Adventures. Chevy is now surprising fans once again with the release of an electric version of the blazer for the 2025 model year called the Blazer EV.
While the electrification of the Blazer may be underwhelming for some, the SS trim offers an impressive 557 horsepower and can reportedly reach 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds.
The SS appears to be positioned to compete with other high-performance electric SUVs such as the Ford Mustang Mach EGT and the Tesla Model Y Performance.

2025 Blazer EV Design Updates
The Blazer EV is a completely new model within the Blazer lineup and will have its own unique body and interior design rather than being a gasoline-powered Blazer retrofitted with an electric propulsion system.
The Blazer EV is a strict two-row configuration and appears to have a sporty interior design that matches the SUV’s aggressive exterior styling, according to photos.
The dashboard is flanked by round air vents, and RS and SS trims feature a two-tone black and red color scheme, although a more monotone option is likely available for those who prefer a less flashy look.
We were able to sit inside a pre-production SS model and found there was enough legroom in both rows, but headroom was somewhat limited.

Interior Upgrades
To provide a more luxurious feel, the 2025 Chevy Blazer’s interior has been updated. The cabin is spacious and can comfortably seat up to five passengers. The seats are covered in high-quality leather and feature heating and ventilation, ensuring maximum comfort for passengers.
Engine Options & Performance
The 2025 Chevy Blazer is available in two engine options. The base model is equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which delivers smooth and seamless shifts. The higher-end model of the Blazer comes with a 3.6L V6 engine that produces 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
The engine is also mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Both engine options are available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. While specific horsepower figures have not yet been released for the 1LT, 2LT, or RS Blazer EV models, the top-of-the-line SS model will feature a 557-horsepower electric powertrain with standard all-wheel drive.
Chevy claims that the SS model will be able to accelerate to 60 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds. The 1LT will only be offered with front-wheel drive, while the 2LT will be available with both front and all-wheel drive.
Chevrolet has not provided many details regarding the battery size options for the Blazer EV, but it has been revealed that the RS model will offer the longest estimated driving range within the lineup at 320 miles.
On the other hand, the 1LT model, which is the entry-level option, is expected to have a range of about 247 miles per charge.

2025 Chevy Blazer Release Date
Chevrolet has slated the release of the 2025 Chevy Blazer for July 8, 2024. This launch date applies to the traditional combustion engine models of the Blazer, providing buyers an early opportunity to experience the latest updates and features in the mid-size crossover lineup.
