The Japanese automaker introduced two striking new models, the fully electric Nissan Epoch and the plug-in hybrid Nissan Evo, signaling a refreshing pivot back to sedan design.
Both vehicles, conceptualized in partnership with Dongfeng Motor, are near production-ready, with Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida announcing that the Epoch is expected to hit the market within the next year, while the Evo will follow shortly after.
These introductions come at a time when the auto industry’s focus has shifted predominantly towards larger and more versatile vehicles.

The Epoch and Evo are both similar in size but differ significantly in style. The Evo boasts a more aggressive stance, with a sleek, rakish roofline and an aesthetically pleasing rear end. Inside, the Evo adopts a minimalist design heavily influenced by modern trends, featuring a large tablet-like central display complemented by a slightly larger-than-average digital instrument cluster.
Despite its sporty name, the Evo is designed as a family-friendly vehicle, ideal for weekend trips and cherished family moments, according to Nissan.
This approach places both models in direct competition with a myriad of sedans still popular in China, such as the newly introduced Volkswagen Passat Pro, exclusive to the Chinese market.
In addition to the sedans, Nissan also showcased two SUVs – the electric Epic and the plug-in hybrid Era, which share a cohesive design language with the Epoch and Evo.
These models, which include features such as bidirectional charging, air suspension, and zero-gravity seats, are expected to launch within the next three years.
