Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to update its GLE-Class SUV. Spy photos show a new look for the front and some hidden changes inside.
The current GLE-Class came out in 2020 and got a small update in 2024. But this new update seems like it’s going to be even more significant, possibly hitting the market around 2027.
This move is a bit unusual for Mercedes, as they usually don’t update their cars this much during their life cycle. But it seems they want to keep the GLE-Class fresh for longer, especially since they’re planning to keep selling gas-powered cars for a while longer due to slower demand for electric vehicles.
We don’t know all the details yet, but Mercedes has said they’re going to give the GLE 53 from AMG a new plug-in hybrid engine in 2026, which should make it more powerful.
There’s also talk that they might stop using V-8 engines in the GLE-Class, following what they did with the 2025 G-Class. However, the super-powerful G 63 from AMG might still keep its V-8.
Besides engine changes, there could be some cool new tech features, like the Offroad Cockpit from the 2025 G-Class, which gives drivers lots of useful info when they’re off-roading.
