Exploring the 2025 Ram Rho: First Impressions

  • The Rho features a new 3-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine, offering both power and improved fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor, the TRX.
  • With its rugged front fascia, LED headlights, and functional hood scoop, the Rho maintains the bold and aggressive styling that made the TRX stand out.
  • The Rho’s interior boasts sporty accents like unique stitching and metal pedals, along with the latest tech features including a large touchscreen and head-up display.
  • Despite its upgrades, the Rho maintains a competitive starting price of around $70,000, making it an attractive option for off-road enthusiasts.

Four years after Ram shook up the off-road truck scene with the TRX, they’re at it again. This time, it’s with a truck called the 2025 Ram Rho, set to take over from the TRX. I got a sneak peek at this new truck just outside Detroit, Michigan, and it’s pretty exciting.

The Rho stands for “Ram High Output,” which fits because this truck is all about power and performance. But the big news is under the hood.

Instead of the TRX’s huge V8 engine, the Rho has a new 3-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine. This new engine is not only powerful but also better on gas, which is great news for truck lovers.

Looks-wise, the Ram Rho sticks close to the TRX’s style, which is a good thing because that was a good-looking truck. It’s got a new front look with awesome LED headlights and a functional hood scoop that makes it look tough.

The Rho is also bigger and bolder, with special off-road shocks and beefy tires that make it ready for any adventure.

Inside, the Rho feels a lot like the regular Ram 1500, but with some cool extras like sporty stitching, metal pedals, and a steering wheel with paddle shifters. It’s got all the latest tech too, like a big touchscreen and a head-up display to help you keep your eyes on the road.

Ram is keeping the price about the same as the old TRX, starting around $70,000. That’s not cheap, but with all the new features and the powerful new engine, it seems like a good deal.

The Ram Rho is expected to hit dealerships in fall 2024, and I can’t wait to see how it stacks up against the old TRX.

With its lighter weight, twin turbos, and new off-road settings, it’s built to be a blast on any trail. Keep an eye out for this one; it’s going to be a game-changer in the world of off-road trucks!
