To replace the NV 91 and NV 92 projects, Tesla plans to introduce new vehicles, including more affordable models that will utilize aspects of both the Next Generation and current platforms. For example, the new models may feature fewer luxury options and more standardized components to reduce the final price. Elon Musk recently presented a slide with Tesla’s EV product roadmap, raising many questions and curiosity. Some speculate that one of the covered forms on the slide indicates a truck based on its shape. The other two covered vehicles have identical forms, suggesting they are the Model 2 and the robo taxi, also known as the Cyber Cab.
The Crucial Cyber Cab Project
The Cyber Cab is a critical project for Tesla. This fully autonomous robo taxi, developed from the Model 2, features a two-door design, a large trunk, and a coupe style. Initially intended to serve Tesla’s taxi fleet, it may now be sold to individual customers. The Cyber Cab will have no steering wheel or pedals, with a central display to adjust personal settings, emphasizing the passenger experience over performance metrics.

This compact electric vehicle will feature a traditional driving system, with production taking place at Giga Mexico using the revolutionary unboxed process manufacturing technique. Despite previous rumors of cancellation, Elon Musk confirmed the Model 2 is in progress. With an estimated price around $25,000 and potential US government subsidies reducing the cost to about $20,000, the Model 2 aims to be a more affordable Tesla option.
Practical and Stylish Design
The Model 2 is expected to feature a closed front grill similar to the Model 3, sleek LED headlights and taillights, and a low hood. The hatchback design may make it more practical than the Model 3, offering better access to the trunk and accommodating bulky items.
Inside, Tesla is likely to maintain its minimalist design, further simplified for the Model 2. Traditional driving controls, such as a steering wheel and pedals, will cater to customers who prefer direct control over driving. Seating for five people, with most functions controlled by a 15.4-inch horizontal touchscreen similar to the Model 3 and Model Y, is anticipated.
Advanced Features and Self-Driving Capabilities
The Model 2 is expected to be equipped with the necessary hardware for full self-driving (FSD), although it may not initially reach level four or five autonomy. Tesla continues to improve its FSD technology, currently at level two, which requires driver supervision. The Model 2 will have an expected range of 250 to 300 miles, depending on the battery configuration.

Tesla’s Master Plan Part 4, as mentioned by Elon Musk, is not limited to cars. This ambitious plan aims to revolutionize several industries, focusing on developing advanced humanoid robots called Optimus and artificial general intelligence (AGI). These innovations could redefine Tesla’s assembly lines, integrating into manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce production costs.
Entering a Competitive Market
The Model 2 will enter a competitive market of compact electric vehicles, facing rivals like the Cerborn MG4, Renault 5, and Volkswagen ID.2. Combining affordability, performance, and innovation, the Model 2 has the potential to stand out and capture a significant market share.
