Setting off in the Ram Rebel HD feels more like a traditional Ram HD. It’s firmer than the Power Wagon, which glides more smoothly. You can feel the bumps more, but that’s the trade-off for the higher payload capacity (almost 3,000 lbs compared to the Power Wagon’s 1,000 lbs).
The Rebel’s 6.4 Hemi engine is powerful and has a great sound. While you can get a diesel option with more torque, it adds extra weight to the front end, making the ride even stiffer and increasing maintenance costs.
My thoughts
In summary, the Rebel offers off-road capabilities and rugged looks that the regular Ram HD doesn’t have. It’s not a Power Wagon, but it’s a different, stiffer vehicle with its own unique appeal.
