Hey everyone, it’s Andrew here and today I’m going to be reviewing the new 2025 Kia Sorento X-Pro. Before we get into the article, I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to Jerry Saner Kia here in Salt Lake for letting me spend some time with this Sorento.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, we have a turbocharged 2.5L 4-cylinder that goes to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is rated at 20 MPG around town and 27 MPG on the highway.
The X-Pro trim includes all-wheel drive and a center locking differential, enhancing its off-road capability. Additionally, the vehicle can tow up to 4,500 pounds with trailer brakes, though without them, it’s limited to 1,654 pounds.
Exterior Design
The Sorento X-Pro boasts a rugged design with a boxy hood and the prominent Kia logo front and center. The headlights have a modern look, and the grille is all blacked out with some polished trim, giving it a more upscale appearance.
The tire and wheel setup is 235x65x17 in the front and rear, with all-terrain tires and blacked-out wheels providing an off-roader look. The vehicle also includes chunky fender flares, blacked-out mirror caps, and roof rails.
Interior and Comfort
Inside, the Sorento X-Pro features a spacious and comfortable cabin. The rear seats are easy to fold down, providing ample storage space. The third row is suitable for kids, and the second row offers decent legroom and comfort, with heated seats and multiple charging ports.
The front seats are equipped with power-adjustable settings and offer both heating and ventilation functions. The interior is crafted with soft-touch materials, a sophisticated wood trim finish, and a premium headliner, all highlighted by a panoramic sunroof. The SX Prestige trim further elevates the cabin with leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and an advanced Bose audio system.
Technology and Features
The Sorento X-Pro is packed with technology. It includes a 360-degree camera system, a digital gauge cluster, and a responsive infotainment system integrated with the dashboard. Multi-function controls, wireless phone charging, and a traditional shifter enhance convenience.
The vehicle also has heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and a variety of driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.
Pricing
The Sorento X-Pro SX Prestige is the top-tier trim, priced at $49,285. This model is fully loaded with features, offering excellent value for a mid-size SUV with three rows of seating.
Driving Experience
The driving experience in the Sorento X-Pro is impressive. It handles well on both paved and unpaved roads, with its all-terrain tires providing good grip. The suspension system offers a comfortable ride, absorbing bumps and maintaining stability. The turbocharged engine provides ample power, and the dual-clutch transmission offers smooth and quick shifts. While the vehicle performs well off-road, its on-road comfort and quietness make it a great family hauler.
Overall, the 2025 Kia Sorento X-Pro is a versatile and capable SUV, ideal for those seeking a blend of off-road capability and on-road comfort.
Let me know if you’d prefer the hybrid version for better fuel economy or stick with the turbocharged gas version for more power.
