2026 Genesis Electrified G80: What Makes This Electric Sedan a Game-Changer!

The 2026 Genesis Electrified G80 has received its first facelift, marking a significant update for the electric sedan. This refreshed model introduces several enhancements, aligning it with its gasoline-powered counterpart and the GV80 SUV, both of which have already undergone similar updates.

Genesis has extended the wheelbase of the Electrified G80 by 5.1 inches, now measuring a substantial 123.6 inches compared to its predecessor’s 118.5 inches.

This extension not only alters the car’s exterior proportions but also significantly improves interior comfort, particularly for rear-seat passengers. The extra space allows for the inclusion of new VIP reclining seats with leg rests and a memory feature to save preferred seating positions.

Exterior changes are subtle but noticeable, with slight revisions to the headlights, front and rear bumpers, and the grille. The wheel design lineup has also been revamped. A notable upgrade is the EV charge-port cover, now featuring a convenient power open and close function.

Inside, the most striking update is the replacement of the old 14.5-inch touchscreen with a new 27.0-inch OLED unit. This massive screen integrates the gauge cluster and infotainment system under a single pane of glass, providing a sleek and modern look.

Despite this upgrade, the center console retains its dual rotary knobs, one for the infotainment system and the other serving as the gear selector.

While these changes are promising, Genesis has not yet disclosed any modifications to the powertrain. Details regarding the U.S. model’s availability, pricing, and range are still awaited. The previous 2024 Genesis Electrified G80 started at $75,625, and it is anticipated that the 2026 model will remain in a similar price range.

Currently, Genesis has only revealed the Korean version of the facelifted Electrified G80. However, it is expected that these enhancements will be carried over to the U.S. market, ensuring American consumers can also enjoy the latest updates in this luxury electric sedan.
