2025 Toyota Prius: Specs, Interior, Price & Release Date

Toyota is planning to launch its all-new 2025 Toyota Prius that will be all-new in the Prius lineup and also it will be more powerful than ever before. According to the reports, it will be inspired by the GR10 hybrid race car.

The Prius Prime is the plug and hybrid Champion within the Toyota Prius family, offering both electric and gasoline power for maximum efficiency. Since the Prius lineup received a major overhaul for 2023, expect changes to the Prime to be minor for the 2025 model year.

What’s New in 2025 Toyota Prius Prime?

Visually, the current Prius Prime strikes a pose that’s both sporty and stylish. It blends athletic looks with a surprising amount of pep under the hood, all while prioritizing impressive fuel economy. The hatchback design offers comfortable seating for five and enough cargo space for your everyday essentials.

Inside, you’ll find a range of convenient features likely including an 8-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, power front seats, automatic wipers, and a suite of driver assistance technologies to keep you safe on the road.

Powertrain & Performance

Under the hood, the 2025 Prius Prime is expected to carry over its proven plug-in hybrid powertrain: a 2.0L gasoline engine working in harmony with a pair of electric motors generating a combined output of 220 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque. A continuously variable transmission seamlessly delivers power to the front wheels for a smooth ride.

It is being told that the next Toyota GR Prius 2025 will be built on Toyota’s Motorsport Gazoo racing platform to boost its power of 100 horsepower. Also, it will have a completely different design and style from the regular Prius.

2025 Toyota Prius Price

The regular Prius starts at $27,400 for the LE version, while the range-topping Prius Limited has a $34,465 sticker. But the additional carbon fiber hood, bucket seats, body kit, high-end wheels, and tires won’t come cheap.

We’re thinking the GR will probably sit between the top-grade version of the Prius and the GR Supra, which costs $54,540. Throw in an extra $1,600 if all-wheel drive is offered.

Plug In Hybrid Engine

The latest Prius takes the next step in that journey by introducing the enhanced electrification of the latest plug-in hybrid electric technology.

The new Prius is the first vehicle to utilize both the TNG 2.0 L engine and the third generation of Toyota’s plug-in hybrid system, which has benefited from continuous improvement since the first plug-in hybrid Prius was launched in 2012.

The iconic wedge shape has been reborn for the fifth generation with a progressive design which retains an unmistakable Prius look within a sleeker, sportier silhouette.

Specs & Performance

Now, the fifth-gen Prius comes fitted with either a 194-horsepower hybrid or the 220-horsepower plug-in hybrid setup featured in the Prime model.

While Toyota remained tight-lipped about the engine that was fitted under the GR hood, we noticed that the car featured a fuel flap on the driver’s side, which would probably eliminate the plug-in hybrid version from running.

But if the plug-in is still in play, the 2023 Prius Prime boasts an extra 100 horsepower more than the fourth-gen, so it can finally get a decent 0 to 60 time of 6.6 seconds.

That is a 35% improvement over the previous gen, and for a Prius, that’s considered hauling ass.

2025 Toyota Prius Release Date

The 2025 Toyota Prius is expected to be released in November 2024. It will be available at all dealerships starting in December 2024. Get ready to experience the next generation of Toyota’s iconic hybrid, featuring advanced technology, impressive fuel efficiency, and a sleek design.

Design Updates

Gazoo also added two sets of canard winglets on the bumper corners, creating downforce for the front of the car. On the sides, engineers installed side skirts and wheel arch cladding.

Finally, a functional wing was installed on the tailgate along with a diffuser under the bumper. The fifth-gen Prius is easily the most stylish and aerodynamic to date, and these GR exterior additions give it a tad more aggressiveness as well.

High-bolstered bucket front seats, similar to those in the GR Supra, also give the interior a functional refresh.
