Nissan has designated its largest sedan, the Nissan Maxima, as a four-door sports car for several decades. Although production of the current generation Maxima is expected to conclude this year, the nameplate will not be discarded. It is anticipated that it will resurface within the next two years as an electric sedan, largely resembling the exquisite IMs concept that debuted in 2019.
It is also expected that powertrain components for the 2025 Nissan Maxima will be sourced from the electric Ariya SUV. Production of the sedan is scheduled to commence in 2025 in Canton, Mississippi.
What’s new in Toyota Maxima 2025?
2025 will mark the debut of an entirely new generation of the Maxima. It will succeed the current iteration, whose production will conclude this year.
The Maxima brand will be discontinued in 2024, concurrent with Nissan’s lineup reorganization. With the exception of the number of doors, we anticipate no major changes to the current Maxima for 2025.
Nissan termed the IMs concept as a collection of angular contours and slender headlights, an elevated sports sedan. A portion of its design will be derived from this concept.
Pricing and which trim to buy?
Pricing for the 2025 Nissan Maxima is anticipated to range from approximately $44,000 to $61,000, depending on the specification level and additional features.
Nissan has yet to comment on the potential appearance of the 2025 Maxima lineup. It is probable that the trims will follow the same evolutionary trajectory as the Ariya, which abandons the traditional capitalization of letters (e.g., SR, SV) in favor of witty designations such as Engage and Evolve.
We expect the Maxima to offer a model with a compact battery to maintain a low base price. Elevated variants will feature increased power and range, with the latter being denoted by the letter Plus in the trim name.
Performance, power, and the EV motor
The 2025 Nissan Maxima will be built upon the CMF platform, which is currently used by the Ariya and is also shared with Renault and Mitsubishi as partners.
Although the precise configuration of the new Maxima is still unknown, Nissan could rationalize assembling the majority of the entry-level components from the Ariya into a base model. This would include a solitary electric motor mounted on the front axle, generating 214 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque.
The most robust all-wheel-drive system for the Ariya increases power output to 389 horsepower. Nissan claims that the Maxima is all about sporty driving, so the same power ratings as the IMs concept (483 horsepower and 590 lb-ft) would be ideal. An enthusiast can imagine.
Toyota Maxima 2025 Release Date
